✣ writing reflections + gifts to the earth ceremony ✣

the intention of this offering is a shared opportunity to maintain the balance of receiving and giving.

Earth gives her resources consistently, for our survival. The air we breathe, the water we drink, our food, gas, and materials for our homes, clothes, and infrastructure.

This is a 2.5 hour community workshop including 3 parts, succinctly moved through, ending in a giving of "earth offerings." This is a practice that rooted in anthropology, and has been seen across cultures, since the inception of the human being.

Here is an overview:

1/ We will begin with writing reflections that have been designed to consider and review our relationship with the natural world. Rooted in concepts from ecopsychology and traditional ecological knowledge, this is a bridging of science and nature.

2/ A short guided tea meditation, with an intentionally crafted herbal medicine to clear the mind, center the heart, and shift consciousness.

3/ Ending with, a gifts to the earth ceremony- a giving of pagamentos. This is an opportunity to give gifts of thanks to Earth. Planting the seeds of our deepest prayers and blessings.

this is my gift. to my community. to earth. :)

✷✷ This is a ticketed event, with a capacity of 12 people. It is $11 a ticket simply to cover the cost of materials.

What to bring & suggestions on how to prepare:

1/ Sitting in ceremony can often bring up forgotten thoughts, buried emotions, and great memories. It is best to arrive well-rested and hydrated. Self-care the night prior, and morning of is a great way to bring yourself. Set intentions or come with an open mind, curious of whatever may come up.

2/ I like to show up to ceremony dressed for the occasion. My grandma always said that you don’t show up to Church in your house clothes!

3/ What to bring:

𖥔 something to sit on

𖥔 a journal and something to write with

𖥔 altar items (these will be returned at the end), this is anything special or sentimental that you want charged up with all the love

𖥔 gifts to give to the earth. Martin Pretchel says the best gifts to give are those that hurt a little bit to give away. (I do NOT suggest you give away your grandma’s necklace or any family heirlooms) good options are: honey, high quality eggs, milk, ocean water, creek water, art that you’ve made, shells, crystals, hand picked flowers, yields from your garden, or any intentions or wishes that you’ve written down prior
